Daraz, an online e-commerce store that provides branded products for men and women across clothing, footwear, apparel, jewelry, and accessories. It operates in Pakistan, Srilanka, Myanmar, Bangladesh, and Nepal.
Daraz Nepal has recently organized an event named “Daraz Championship Case Study (DCCS)”, an inter-college case study competition for undergraduate and graduate level students to showcase their analytical and problem-solving skills held on this 21st July 2018 at Hotel Yak and Yeti that followed the huge success of the first edition last year having combined partnership with Ace Institute of Management.
Nepal Commerce Campus beat all the seven other finalists at the Grand Finale ranking at no.1 position in this event. The first round of this event held just a week before consisting of altogether 22 participant colleges.
Where only 8 colleges got qualified for the next round and they combined competed for the cash prize of Rs. 1,75,000 . The qualified colleges were: The British College, Ace Institute of Management, Medhavi College, Nepal Commerce Campus, Quest International College, KUSOM, Islington College and Kathmandu Model College.
The opening ceremony of the Finale was honored by none other than Ms. Chaelotte Stofberg, the HR Director of Daraz group. Likewise, other special guests included HR Heads of Daraz from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Srilanka.
A case study related to Daraz Pakistan was provided to all the 8 finalists of the event where they had to examine the case on Customer Loyalty Programme and also had to suggest the most appropriate loyalty programme for Daraz. The panel of leading industry experts was there to judge all the teams which included Mr. Ujaya Sakhya ( Managing Director, Outreach), Mr. Ashutosh Tiwari ( Founder, Safal Partners) and Dr.Arhan Sthapit (Asst.Professor, TU).
The award-winning team from Nepal Commerce Campus comprises of members named Ms. Mallika Karki, Ms. Lipsa Karmacharya, and Ms. Sunita Tandukar and also got a cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh whereas The Ace Institute of Management campus received the position of first runner-up with the cash Rs. 50,000. similarly, The British College was awarded the prize of Rs. 25,000 for the 2nd runner-up team.
Also, all these winning teams will be called for a direct interview with Daraz for “Daraz Future Leadership Programme” (DFLP, an 18 months leadership training programme). There the selected candidates will be working for six months each in the three departments of their choice. They will be granted to full leadership training, plus direct access to Top Management and also be playing a key part in the important projects of Daraz. On Completion of the 18-month programme successfully, they will be signed as the Management Team of Daraz.
