Instagram Spotted Testing New Feature on Direct Messaging

The new testing feature of Instagram on direct messaging; Text-Only Stories, Screenshot Alerts is ‘Active At’ Feature. Users are able to see the online status of the people that they were conversing with on Direct Messages. One of its interesting facts is the feature works even the person is not following your account.On-line reports additionally urged that Instagram is trying out out different options reminiscent of text-only tales and indicators for screenshots.
This new feature is similar to Last Seen’ on WhatsApp and ‘Active at’ on Facebook Messenger. You can access it by going into the Instagram Direct messages section of the app. On the app, we can see the last time stamp when the user was online. It has option for timestamp such as ‘Active now’, ‘Active today’, ‘Active 1h ago’, ‘Active 15m ago’ etc. We were able to see the last active timestamp, however, considering it’s still testing, the feature is slightly hard to spot right now. This feature is currently available only for a few select users, albeit on both Android and iOS.
TheNextWeb also reports that Facebook-owned Instagram is testing a new ‘Type’ feature that enables text-only, written stories on the mobile app. We know that Instagram Stories have always been based on images and video. this  Instagram new Type feature apparently shows up next to other choices such as Boomerang, Rewind, and Superzoom. Users can choose from different fonts, different backgrounds, and even apply filters on Type.

According to WABetaInfo, Instagram is testing out a security feature in its app. When someone takes a screenshot of your stories, this feature will send notifications to your account. The feature will be expanded to public stories as Snapchat.
