Microsoft Surface Go goes official with SSD and attractive pricing

Microsoft finally announced its cheapest tablet, the Surface Go on 10th July. The Surface Go is more budget-friendly than the Microsoft Surface Pro but is smaller and less powerful at the same time. Surface Go is the cheapest Surface device from Microsoft and operates on Windows 10 OS.

Microsoft usually designs and launch products for a specific group of people but the Surface Go does not follow the same trend. Surface Go is smaller and less powerful version of the Surface Pro which aims at the broader accessibility of the Microsoft device running the Windows OS.

The Surface Go basically comes in two variants one with eMMC and other with SSD. The device has a 10-inch display with an aspect ratio of 3:2 and a resolution of 1800 x 1200 pixels(10-point multi-touch, and ink, ~217 ppi). The device is powered by Intel Pentium Gold Processor 4415Y. The graphics are handled by the Intel® HD Graphics 615. The 4 GB and 6 GB RAM variants of the Surface Go respectively features 64 GB eMMC and 128 GB SSD of storage. The size of the battery is yet to be revealed but Microsoft claims that the device can provide up to 9 hours of video playback.

The base model of the Surface Go that includes 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of eMMC carries a price tag of $399. The higher variant featuring 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of SSD is priced at $549. Some of the accessories that will be available for the Surface Go include Type Cover (black) worth $99, Signature Type Cover in red, blue and silver for $129, Surface Mobile Mouse for $34 and Surface Pen for $99.

Surface Go only supports WiFi for the internet for now but Microsoft has assured that they will release the LTE version of the device later this year.
