OnePlus 8 Pro is an astounding smartphone that comes with several striking features. The phone was already launched last month therefore I need not explain more about its features. Yet still, something is interesting which I want to share with you. It is about its camera. Yes, OnePlus 8 Pro comes with a marvellous feature called a color filter.

What about OnePlus 8 Pro camera?
The wide camera uses a 0.5-inch type Sony IMX586 image sensor with an F2.2 lens. The primary 48MP camera uses a 1/1.4-inch type Sony IMX689 sensor with an F1.78 lens. The primary camera also includes on-sensor Omni-directional phase-detect autofocus. Further, the main camera can record ‘dynamic video,’ which is a form of HDR video.
With the color filter camera, OnePlus 8 Pro can capture the object over clothes and plastics. So what is the reason behind these features? It is said that the color filter lacks the IR cutoff filter which is not filtering IR light. And hence it allows us to see even through clothes and plastics.

There are thermal cameras and even night-vision goggles for the purpose. Various smartphones have also begun incorporating infrared sensors. While the OnePlus X-Ray Vision colour filter serves to sound enjoyable, it also fosters privacy attention as it succeeds in seeing through clothes with ease. A Reddit user seems to confirm it but the functionality is quite limited. However, if it works, OnePlus might have to do something about it to stop its misuse.
