Reliance Jio is launching a video conferencing app “Jio Meet”

Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited is an Indian telecommunication company. It provides 4G coverage across all 22 telecom circles. With its outstanding services and plans, Jio is able to become one of the largest mobile network operators in India. Also, it is the 3rd largest mobile network operator over the world with more than 370.07 million subscribers.

We all are familiar with the present pandemic situation due to COVID-19. People are not able to go outside. They have to social distancing and stay at hope. While everyone is staying at home, it has increased the use of the internet. People use the internet for audio and video calls, browsing, remote business, and many others. Among these all, the use of video conferencing is on the rise.

During this Lockdown, Microsoft meeting participant has increased to 200 million whereas Zoom meeting apps is noted to 300 million. Also, the messenger has increased the number of participants to 50 people. WhatsApp and Messenger are getting more than 700 million participants in calls every day.

By keeping this situation in mind, Jio is launching a video conferencing app called ‘Jio Meet’. Jio Meet is an HD video conferencing app which comes with many uniqueness. The senior VP of Reliance Jio said, “Jio Meet does not limit to a typical video conferencing app.” Her statement clearly shows that the app will work smoothly on any device with any OS.

How many users can participate in Jio Meet?

Jio Meet comes with two types of plans for its users. They are:

  1. Free Plan

In the free plan, up to 5 people can participate in the video conference.

  1. Business Plan

In the business plan, up to 100 people can participate in the video conference.

This app will allow email and OTP based login to host the meeting regarding these plans.

According to Reliance Jio, Jio Meet will also provide the history of the conference and all meetings will be secured by PIN.
