Women in Big Data Nepal welcomed two directors Ms.Sampada Regmi and Ms.Santoshi Gahatraj on the 27th of September.
Application for the co-director position was opened for diligent, confident, and passionate individuals to join the team. The first round of the selection process was application selection. The second round was one on one interview selection. And, the final round was selection via group discussion through the various applications. Through all these processes, Miss Sampada and Santoshi successfully made a way to become new co-directors of the team.
Sampada Regmi is a recent Computer Science and Engineering graduate working as a Software Engineer at Accolite Digital and Software Consultant in Morgan Stanley. She has been a very enthusiastic and working executive member in Women in Big Data Nepal. She is a part of Toastmasters as well. She envisions putting the Nepal chapter in height with the involvement of more women with the collaboration of various organizations in her tenure.
Santoshi Gahatraj is an IT graduate turned into an Educator. Currently, She works as a freelance educator which ranges from teaching coding to kids and training teachers for digital education systems. She is very passionate and dedicated to integrating the education sector and data sector and currently doing research that might be helpful to bring some positive changes in the education system in Nepal. Santoshi is someone who loves to explore new opportunities and take up challenges. As Co-Director, she aims to reach out to the maximum number of Women through providing awareness on data, its uses, and various data security issues. Furthermore, She plans to prepare women to develop their careers in Big data.
Women in Big Data is a non-profit organization established in 2015 in the USA. Its purpose is to champion the success of women and involve them in the technology industry. Especially, in the field of big data. The organization has conducted various fireside chat events, workshops, webinars. Its main aim is to involve many women in the field of data.
Congratulations! to the new directors and the team. Let’s hope for them to accomplish successful projects and events with the remarkable involvement of women from different fields in Big data. We wish them a successful tenure!
