World’s thinnest laptop-Acer
Acer’s coming out swinging for the fences in 2018, unveiling the thinnest laptop ever, the Swift 7, which measures a mere 0.35 inches thin. This $1699 14-inch laptop is made more portable.
The updated Nitro 5 is aimed at more casual gamers, with a low $799 starting price. It packs AMD Radeon RX560 graphics, the latest AMD Ryzen mobile chips, and faster memory than before. It also includes the Nitro Sense GPU/CPU monitoring software, which provides real-time metrics for those components. The new Nitro 5 will be available in May. Acer has also upgraded the memory from previous versions, giving this machine DDR4 RAM.
Acer claims that Swift 7 is the world’s thinnest laptop at just 8.98 mm. For this comparison, Acer has considered the clamshell laptop designs in the market with macOS and Windows. The upgraded laptop has a 14-inch Full HD IPS display technology and Corning Gorilla Glass NBT touchscreen.
Acer Swift 7 is powered by an Intel 7th Gen Core i7 processor. It is a Windows 10 always-connected PC with the all-day battery life of 10 hours and 4G LTE connectivity. It has 8 GB of RAM.
The rest of Acer’s new models include a new Chromebook with lots of ports and a new 2-in-1 with Intel’s 8th Gen Core CPUs.
Finally, for the new products, the Chromebook 11 is a refresh of Acer’s 11.6-inch ChromeOS system. The very portable fanless laptop can be ordered with a touch or non-touch display and provides up to 10 hours of battery life. It includes two USB-C ports, useful for connecting to external displays. It will be available in April starting at $249.
You can also get 256 GB of PCIe SSD storage and 8GB of LPDDR3 memory for fast and responsive performance. For better security, this unibody aluminum chassis machine has a fingerprint reader and Windows Hello support.
