eSewa is Nepal’s first online payment gateway which is used to make online payment easy. It is a digital wallet from where customers can instantly pay, send and receive money from their mobile phone and the internet. In simple words, it’s a mobile money account. This App is available for both iOS and Android devices. It has recently been licensed by Nepal Rastra Bank as Payment Service Provider. Also, it provides the services like payment of mobile, telephone, Internet, drinking water, long route bus, school, and colleges bills online.
Recently, eSewa and Nepal Airlines has been connected for online ticketing of domestic as well as international flights. There held a contract signed between the CEO of eSewa and General manager of Nepal Airlines, Mr. Roshan Lamichane, and Mr. Saugat Ratna Kansakar respectively. Lamichane said, “From now onwards, passengers can easily purchase the ticket online through eSewa”.
Talking about Nepal Airlines Corporation(NAC), it was incorporated on 1 July 1958 through the enactment of Nepal Airlines Corporation Act. 2019 with the major objective to provide air transport service to any person, agency or organization. It is for those who need such service for transportation of person or materials from one airport to another that may be national or international. Recently Nepal Airlines has launched a new wide-body airplane comprising a total of 2400 seats.
Likewise, eSewa has already started the facilities of online ticketing of domestic and international flights of Nepal. Buddha Air, Sri Airlines, Yeti Airlines, Simirik Air, Solar Airline tickets are available online on eSewa. Online ticketing will help in the expansion of the corporate market.
