The iPhone 17 Air is one of the most speculated smartphones for 2025 and, again, it has been the subject of a major leak. In a video released by tipster Jon Prosser on YouTube, it is possible to see high-quality renderings of what may be the final design of the product, including the thin thickness and the bar camera module.
With artwork that could easily be mistaken for official Apple images, the iPhone 17 Air should be Apple’s thinnest smartphone yet. According to Prosser, the device will be 5.5 mm thick at its thinnest point, surpassing the 5.9 mm present in the iPhone 6.

However, this will not be the company’s thinnest product. The iPad Pro OLED with M4 chip, released in May 2024, holds the rank of Apple’s thinnest, measuring only 5,1 mm. Even so, the competition from the iPhone 17 Air is different and aims to intensify the dispute with Samsung and the upcoming Galaxy S25 Edge, which should hit the market with 5,8 mm.
Redesigned camera
In addition to being very thin, the iPhone 17 Air will have an important design change on the back with the change in the camera module. Unlike the iPhone 16 series, which uses a square module, the new line should bet on the bar format, similar to what Google does with its Pixel smartphones.
The new attack brings a bar that occupies almost the entire horizontal region of the carcass, with space for what appear to be at least two cameras. There are still no details about which sensors Apple will use in these devices, but certain rumors point out that the Pro model will have a 48-megapixel primary camera.
Even with the hard-hitting leaks, the iPhone 17 Air is a few months away. Apple is expected to unveil the smartphone only from the second half of the year.
