OnePlus 5 Face Unlock
OnePlus 5 users as the smartphone is all set to get support for Face Unlock. A quick glimpse at your phone is all it takes to sign in, with the help of the front camera.
Oneplus’ take on facial recognition is not as secure as Apple’s Face ID, which uses various sensors for depth mapping and projection to verify that it’s you but it’s more flexible and faster. The wider access is possible since Face Unlock is strictly a software feature.
The OnePlus 5 will soon become the company’s second smartphone to get the Face Unlock feature. The OnePlus 5T was the first OnePLus smartphone to feature facial recognition technology, introduced in the wake of the Apple introducing Face ID on the iPhone X.
OnePlus Co-Founder Carl Pei made the announcement in a tweet on Sunday. He mentioned that this decision was a result of feedback that the company got from its users. But still he hasn’t confined a time frame or said whether or not there will be any functional differences. However it’s good news for anyone worried that the phone maker would purposefully hold back to drive 5T sales.
Due to popular demand, Face Unlock is coming for the OnePlus 5. Thanks for the feedback, and merry Christmas! ???
