No More whatsapp on BlackBerry 10 OS, Windows Phone 8.0
In 2017 farewell whatsapp announced some breaking news which was shocking for some smartphone users. The news is that now after december 31 whatsapp will be no more on Blackberry OS, BlackBerry 10, and Windows Phone 8.0 . The reason behind this is that whatsapp will not develop actively for these platforms, some features may stop functioning at any time
The company said in a Support page. “These platforms don’t offer the kind of capabilities we need to expand our app’s features in the future. If you use one of these affected mobile devices, we recommend upgrading to a newer OS version, or to a newer Android running OS 4.0+, iPhone running iOS 7+, or Windows Phone 8.1+ so that you can continue using WhatsApp.”
The company also declared that whatsapp will work on Nokia S40 until December 31, 2018, while will support Android 2.3.7 and older until February 1, 2020. “Once you have one of these devices, simply install WhatsApp and verify your phone number on the new device. Keep in mind that WhatsApp can only be activated with one phone number on one device at a time,” WhatsApp added.
So if you are using any two of these operating system , you should upgrade your phone in order to access whatsapp properly.WhatsApp updates for other OS versions like Windows Phone 7, Android 2.1, Android 2.2, and iOS 6 were stopped in 2016.
Once you upgrade your phone you are likely to lose all the chat history,there is currently no option to transfer chat history between platforms. Whatsapp previously announced that its upcoming app for businesses which features both verified and non-verified profiles. This gives businesses a formal route to conduct business on the messaging app.
Whatsapp in November,also declared that one can also view YouTube videos directly inside the messaging app by installing its latest update.If a YouTube link has been sent to a conversation, then users can directly view the video through the link on WhatsApp itself.The YouTube clip will appear within a small floating window on your screen, thus implying that you can watch YouTube videos and message at the same time.
