POCO has (finally) presented a successor to the popular Pocophone F1. The Poco F2 Pro comes to Europe and features excellent hardware, a large battery with fast charging, and improved cameras.
Poco F2 Pro official: here’s what you need to know
The Poco F2 Pro is the successor to the Xiaomi Pocophone F1, the affordable flagship released in 2018. Like its predecessor, the Xiaomi Poco F2 Pro is distinguished mainly by its high-end specifications. The smartphone also has a relatively low price of 499 euros. Under the hood, for example, is a Snapdragon 865 chip, the fastest processor currently made by Qualcomm. This chip is also found in high-end devices like the OnePlus 8 Pro and Oppo Find X2 Pro. The new device also has 5G support and a large 4700 mAh battery. Charging is very fast: with the included 30 Watt charger, the battery is full in 63 minutes, Xiaomi reports. Wireless charging is missing.
Big screen without a notch
The Poco F2 Pro has a large 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen without a notch or camera hole for the selfie camera. As a result, the entire front consists of the screen and you don’t see any interruptions when watching movies and tv shows or playing games. The 20-megapixel selfie camera slides out of the case, just like the OnePlus 7T Pro. Under the screen is the fingerprint scanner, which allows you to quickly unlock the phone. The flagship quad-camera has SONY IMX 686 sensor. It comes with Night Mode 2.0 Flagship low-light performance and 123-degree view.
There are four cameras on the back of the new Poco. It is a 64-megapixel primary camera, 13-megapixel wide-angle lens, 2-megapixel depth sensor, and a 5-megapixel telephoto macro camera. With the latter, you take pictures up close, where according to Xiaomi a lot of detail is still captured.
Poco F2 Pro price and release
The Poco F2 Pro has a suggested retail price of 499 euros (approx. $542), with the version with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. A variant with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage will also appear, for which you pay 599 euros. ( approx. $650) This makes the Poco F2 Pro considerably cheaper than virtually any high-end Android phones today.
