Xiaomi has finally unveiled the Redmi K20 pro and Redmi K20, weeks after teasing the name “Flagship Killer 2.0”, in an event in China. Since this device is expected to go head to head with some premium phones on the current market, the price tag makes the device even more attractive.
With an almost bezel-less design, the K20 Pro and K20 both come with a 6.39-inch AMOLED display (19.5:9 aspect ratio, 91.9% screen-to-body ratio) and full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. The 7th-generation in-screen fingerprint sensor hides beneath the display protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 5. With the use of a nano-holographic technology, the unique flamed texture is produced on the four-sided curved glass back.
Redmi K20 Pro Specifications
The Redmi K20 Pro is the better and expensive among the two siblings. It comes with a Snapdragon 855 octa-core SoC coupled with the Adreno 640 GPU. It gets 6/8 GB of RAM and 64/128/256 GB of internal storage. Equipped with an 8-layered graphite cooling technology, the K20 Pro is supposed to maintain average temperature even under extreme usage.
The K20 Pro features a triple rear camera setup. The primary camera is a 48 MP Sony IMX586 sensor with an F / 1.75 aperture and supports PDAF (Phase Detection AutoFocus). There is a 13-megapixel superwide lens with an f/2.4 aperture and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens with an f/2.4 aperture with capabilities 2x optical zoom. Furthermore, night scene mode, handheld super night scene mode, AI scene recognition, dual-LED flash, and 960 fps slow-motion video recording, which we usually get only on the high-end smartphones, are some of the highlighted features in the camera department. Likewise, the motorized pop-up selfie camera houses a 20MP sensor with a sapphire glass cover.
Redmi K20 Pro houses a 4000mAh battery with 27W fast charging support which means it charges up to 58% in 30 mins and can be fully charged in 73 mins. Connectivity options include a 3.5mm audio jack, USB Type-C, 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, GP + GLONASS, and NFC.
Redmi K20
Being the cheaper among the two devices, the company has made some cuts off in specs, but the pricing makes the device attractive. While the Snapdragon 730 SoC replaces the Snapdragon 855 SoC, the Adreno 640 is replaced by the Adreno 618 in the K20. Also, the K20 only gets up to a maximum of 6 GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage.
The K20 also features the same triple camera setup except that the 48 MP camera in K20 uses the Sony IMX582 (K20 Pro uses Sony IMX586 sensor). Other changes include 18W fast charging technology instead of the 7-Watt Quick Charge 4+ used in the K20 Pro.
